If it were not for Ricardo Montalban praising the interior's “soft Corinthian leather,” the Chrysler Cordoba would have faded into the landscape of other 70s/80s big American sedans (this 17+ ft. sedan was called the small Chrysler). We could also go into detail about how with each passing year the engines lost power and the styling slid further down the ugly scale, but that would just be beating a dead horse (maybe that's where the Corinthian leather comes from?**) But that smooth Latin voice stays in our memories, and so we can make room for this battleship-sized coupe on our back lot.
**For those not familiar with why we poke fun at the "soft Corinthian leather", it's because of Mr. Montalban's rich accent during the commercials, and the fact that it is an made-up phrase. "Corinthian leather" was invented as a marketing feature for Chryslers...so now you may want to think twice about paying extra for the Corinthian leather wallet on sale at Wal-Mart
